Andrew Spybey

Andrew Spybey is the founder and principal consultant at Spybey & Company, the strategic marketing communications consultancy.

Andrew draws on more than thirty years of senior management and board-level corporate communications experience gained with blue chip, technology-focused organisations such as Digital, Silicon Graphics, Weber Shandwick, CA Technologies, Travelport and Yell Group plc.

As Group Head of Communications at Yell Group plc Andrew worked as part of a team to transform the former Yellow Pages company into a successful provider of digital marketing services to small and medium-sized businesses. He first worked at Yell as a consultant through Spybey & Company, subsequently joining the company full time in the lead role from January 2012 to July 2014.

Prior to establishing Spybey & Company in September 2011, Andrew was Group Vice President, Corporate Communications for global travel technology provider Travelport GDS, a role he held for two and a half years. Andrew was responsible for developing and executing an integrated communication strategy for the Travelport GDS business globally.

Earlier, Andrew was Vice President, EMEA Communications for five years at management software company CA Technologies, Inc., where he was responsible for the strategic management of internal and external communication across 33 countries.

Andrew joined CA in April 2003, following a brief spell as a Director in the London offices of Weber Shandwick, the world’s largest PR and communications consultancy.

Prior to that, he spent six years at Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), including two years based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Mountain View, California in the capacity of Director, Worldwide Advertising and Branding. Earlier, he managed SGI’s Worldwide Public Relations, Marketing Communications and EMEA Communications functions.

Andrew started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, now part of HP, in 1986 as an intern Press Officer. He subsequently re-joined the company on graduation in 1989, rising to the position of UK Public Relations Manager at the age of 24.

Andrew holds a first class BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Oxford Brookes University, the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Diploma of the Market Research Society.
